“Kristi   began   working   with   our   daughter   in   2006   as   the   school   OT   in   Stamford.      When   Kristi   made   the   decision   to   leave   the   Stamford Public   Schools,   and   further   her   career   we   were   heart   broken.   Our   daughter   struggled   through   the   next   school   year   and   her   sensory needs   worsened,      I   was   lucky   enough   to   find   Kristi   on   the   internet   and   contacted   her   immediately.      I   would   be   remise   if   I   did   not acknowledge   what   a   difference   she   has   made   in   our   daughters   life.   Our   daughter   no   longer   requires   weekly   sessions   with   Kristi,   so we   now   work   with   her   on   an   as   needed   basis   and   continue   to   use   the   sensory   diet   that   she   created.      It   has   been   a   pleasure   to   know and work with Kristi and I look forward to hearing of the success she has with OT-Kids. ”   -Maryanne, Stamford, CT.
“Both   my   sons   (ages   10   and   8)   have   greatly   benefited   from   Kristi   Nguyen's   professional   and   compassionate   instruction.      Kristi   very effectively   taught   both   boys   how   to   write   legibly   and   age   appropriately,   qualities   that   they   had   previously   found   difficult   and frustrating despite lots of practice.  Working with Kristi has been a pleasure for us all. ”   -Erin Brinton, Greenwich, CT.
“When   my   son’s   teacher   told   us   he’d   benefit   from   additional   work   in   handwriting,   Kristi   was   the   perfect   answer.         Rather   than   having to   drive   20   minutes   after   school   to   something   he   dreaded,   Kristi   came   to   our   home   and   made   handwriting   fun!         Kristi   has   an incredible   energy   that   translates   into   a   great   rapport   with   kids   instantly.         Her   exercises   feel   like   games   to   him,   so   I’m   able   to   attend to   my   other   children   and   make   dinner   as   he   does   his   “work”   with   her.      My   son   looks   forward   to   his   time   with   Kristi   and   now   has made incredible progress at school.”                                                                                         -- Mother of Kindergartner at all-boys school
“In   2008   our   son   was   halfway   through   kindergarten   when   the   teacher   informed   us   that   he   was   “not   meeting   the   standards”   in   the areas   of   handwriting   and   small   motor   skills.   Not   knowing   what   direction   to   look   I   took   to   the   internet   to   find   help.      I   came   across Handwriting   Without   Tears,   this   is   where   I   located   Kristi.   She   came   to   our   home   and   began   working   with   Finn   twice   weekly.      Within   a few   short   weeks   Finn   was   holding   the   pencil   correctly   and   was   writing   his   name   legibly,   he   had   learned   to   draw   pictures   and   no longer   fought   us   when   working   on   homework.   Her   creative   approach   won   Finn   over   and   coloring   and   writing   were   no   longer   a   cause of   frustration   and   tears.      Finn   eagerly   waits   for   Kristi   each   week   to   see   what   she   will   have   in   her   “bag   of   tricks”.      Without   all   of   fun ideas and education that Kristi provided us as parents, I am not sure that we would have made it through the kindergarten year. ” -S.M. Greenwich, CT.
“My   baby   was   not   crawling   at   9   months   and   I   started   to   worry.         The   pediatrician   suggested   I   call   CT   “birth-to-three”,   but   I   didn’t   want to   wait   that   long.         I   called   OT-Kids   and   was   able   to   have   a   visit   in   my   home   within   a   week.      Not   only   did   they   put   my   fears   at   ease,   but they   reassured   me   that   he   was   still   within   a   normal   developmental   range,   by   explaining   the   exact   markers   that   mattered.      They   gave me   the   option   of   doing   weekly   therapy,   but   advised   that   I   wait-and-see   and   gave   me   special   exercises   that   I   could   do   with   my   son   by myself.      Soon   thereafter   my   son   was   crawling   and   I   felt   great.         While   he   hasn’t   needed   weekly   therapy,   I   still   check   in   with   OT-Kids   if   I have any concerns and they have been great!”    -- Mother of infant in the Greenwich area
Dear Mrs. Kristi Nguyen, My   committee   wants   to   thank   you   again   for   the   very   informative   and   stimulating   talk   on   autism   that   you   presented   to   our   club, “Adventures in Ideas” here in Heritage Village, on April 17th, 2010. The   showing   of   the   movie   of   you   conducting   a   treatment   session   was   a   very   moving   and   an   informative   addition   to   your   lecture.   We hope   that   you   will   return   in   the   near   future   to   keep   us   up   to   date   as   new   knowledge   is   gained   in   handling   this   seemingly   increasing ailment. Sincerely yours, Edwin B. Kolsby, Director, “Adventures in Ideas”
"After   our   experience   with   a   prior   OT   practice   in   town,   and   with   being   bounced   around   to   3   therapists   in   a   year   within   the   practice, we   were   so   excited   when   OT-Kids   came   to   Fairfield!   We   had   been   seeking   out   a   practice   that   specialized   in   addressing   sensory   issues and   OT-Kids   has   more   then   fit   the   bill.   Our   therapist,   Kim,   has   been   the   missing   piece   to   our   son's   therapy   approach.   Within   10 months   we   have   seen   our   son's   sensory   integration   progress   dramatically.   We   simply   cannot   say   enough   about   Kim's   approach   and her willingness to work with us as parents and with our son's other therapists." Marie- Fairfield, CT
“We   had   visited   another   OT   but   upon   meeting   Kristi,   we   knew   immediately   that   Kristi   was   he   best   fit   to   work   with   Anton.      Kristi   has   a genuine   interest   in   each   child   and   uses   positive   reinforcement   and   love   to   inspire   results.      Anton   has   truly   blossomed   thanks   to Kristi   ...   His   core   strength,   auditory   sensitivity   and   overall   confidence   in   social   settings   have   improved   by   leaps   and   bounds!!   Cynthia
