Kristi J. Nguyen, OTR/L - Owner & Manager OT-Kids   is   owned   and   managed   by   Kristi   J.   Nguyen, OTR/L.      Kristi   is   a   licensed   occupational   therapist specializing   in   the   area   of   pediatrics.      A   graduate   of Quinnipiac   University   in   2002,   she   has   practiced   her speciality    in    various    pediatric    settings    including schools,    clinical    and    home    based    and    she    has experience   working   with   children   of   all   ages   and abilities. Specializing    in    sensory    motor,    fine    motor    and handwriting    skills,    Kristi    is    best    known    for    her creativity   and   energetic   approach   to   working   with children. She   has   extensive   training   in   the   area   of   sensory processing      disorder      and      the      most      modern occupational    therapy    treatment    techniques.        In 2008,   Kristi   was   awarded   with   Handwriting   Without Tears   Level   I   Certification,   she   is   an   expert   in   the area    of    fine    motor    development,    pre-writing    and handwriting    skills    and    interventions.    In    2010    she received   certification   in   the   Vital   Links   Therapeutic Listening     program     and     currently     designs     and implements    home    based    listening    programs    to compliment   a   child’s   therapeutic   program.   In   2012 Kristi   furthered   her   expertise   in   the   area   of   auditory programming   and   intervention   when   she   became trained    and    certified    in    the    use    of    Integrated Listening   Systems   method,   iLs.   Kristi   has   attended and   continues   to   attend   numerous   advanced   level courses   being   instructed   by   nationally   and   globally recognized occupational therapists.
Kristi   has   used   her   expertise   to   regularly   educate and     train     administrators,     teachers,     educational support    staff    and    other    therapists    on    how    to implement      effective      sensory      strategies      and handwriting   support   to   children   in   school   settings. In   2008   she   was   awarded   the   Creative   Classroom Mini     Grant     by     the     Stamford     CT     Chamber     of Commerce,    allowing    her    to    create    a    handwriting program   for   children   grades   K-5   in   the   Stamford Public      Schools,      who      were      struggling      with handwriting     mechanics,     but     did     not     otherwise qualify     for     special     education     intervention.     She worked     closely     with     district     administrators     to create   and   implement   this   program   throughout   the Stamford     Public     Schools     as     they     adopted     the Reponse to Intervention (RTI) approach. Kim - Kim Stewart,M.S. OTR/L - Occupational Therapist Kim   has   been   working   as   a   Sensory   based   occupational   therapist   for   6   years.   She   is   a   compassionate therapist   who   has   worked   with   children   of   all   ages.   Kim   graduated   Summa   Cum   Laude   from   Western   New England   College   in   2008   with   a   Bachelor's   degree   in   Communication   and   a   minor   in   Psychology.   She graduated   from   Sacred   Heart   University   in   2010   with   Master’s   degree   in   Occupational   Therapy.      Kim   was   a member   of   Pi   Theta   Epsilon,   the   OT   honors   society   while   at   SHU.   Kim   has   taken   courses   for   higher   level training   in   birth-3   treatment,   praxis,   integrating   reflexes,   Integrated   listening   programs   and   Handwriting Without Tears.
Karen   Bassett,    M.S.   Occupational   Therapy    received   her   master’s   degree   from   Sacred   Heart   University and   is   a   registered,   licensed   Occupational   Therapist   in   the   state   of   CT.      Inspired   by   the   therapeutic   success with   members   of   her   own   family,   Karen’s   passion   for   and   experience   with   sensory   integration   therapy includes   hospital,   school,   clinic,   and   aquatic   settings.      With   continuing   education   in   sensory   processing,   self- regulation,   praxis,   and   pediatric   visual   rehabilitation,   Karen   is   also   a   certified   provider   of   The   Listening Program.         Karen   playfully   and   creatively   loves   to   treat   children   of   all   ages   and   skill   levels,   to   maximize development, learning, and the self-confidence to realize their own potential.
